It is used to treat respiratory infections like pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis caused by susceptible bacter  It can be prescribed for urinary tract infections (UTIs) when the responsible bacteria are susceptible to this antibiotic. It is also used to treat skin and soft tissue infections, such as cellulitis and abscesses, caused by susceptible bacteria.
