It really depends on case to case. Whether an online doctor appointment or an in-person appointment is more appropriate can depend on the specific needs of the patient and the nature of their condition. In general, Online doctor appointments can be an effective way to receive medical care and treatment, but there may be some limitations compared to in-person appointments. For example, for certain conditions such as routine check-ups, monitoring of chronic conditions, or follow-up visits, online doctor appointments may be just as effective as in-person appointments. In these cases, the doctor can review the patient's symptoms, adjust medications, and provide any necessary recommendations through a video call or phone call.

However, for certain conditions or symptoms that require a physical examination, for example, a patient with an acute injury or a suspected broken bone, an in-person visit will be needed for x-ray or clinical examination. In cases where an online examination is not possible, the doctor may refer the patient for an in-person visit or request for diagnostic test.

In general, it's important to consider the specific needs of the patient and the nature of their condition when determining whether an online or in-person appointment is more appropriate. It is important to note that, the decision of choosing between online and in-person appointments should be done in consultation with TELEPRAC doctors, who will consider all the factors and will be able to advise on the most appropriate option for your individual case. Please note there is no compulsion of online consultations, if you feel its not working for you , you can always opt for clinic visit.

There are two ways to get your lab tests done and discuss the results with your doctor:

  1. After your appointment, your doctor may order a lab or imaging test for you. We will provide you with the best available options and offer home sample collection as well for your lab tests. If you choose this option, the lab associated with TELEPRAC will upload your report in real-time. The report is shared with your doctor and your doctor may schedule a follow-up appointment to discuss the results or may send you a message if everything looks normal.
  2. If you prefer not to go with option 1, you can download the recommended test information from your dashboard and visit a lab of your choice. Once you receive the report, you can upload it to your medical history files. This service is free of cost for our users.

Your first follow-up appointment is free; however, the frequency of follow-ups you need is at the discretion of your doctor. TELEPRAC does not have any authority or role in making these decisions. Your doctor will recommend the appropriate frequency of follow-up appointments based on the specific needs of your case.

Although the doctor-patient interaction is same in both settings but technically, online doctor appointments and in-clinic appointments differ in the following ways:

Location: Online doctor appointments are done through a video call or phone call from the patient's location, whereas in-clinic appointments require the patient to visit the doctor's office or clinic.

Time: Online doctor appointments can be scheduled at a time that is convenient for the patient, and they do not need to take time off work or travel to the clinic. In-clinic appointments often have set hours and may require the patient to take time off work or arrange transportation.

Examination: Online doctor appointments may have some limitations in terms of physical examination as the doctor cannot perform a hands-on examination, whereas in-clinic appointments, the doctor can perform a physical examination

Follow-up: Online doctor appointments are often used for follow-up visits, whereas in-clinic appointments are used for initial consultations and follow-up visits.

Cost: Online doctor appointments may cost less depending on doctors’ discretion and it saves you on transportation charges.
