This medicine is used to improve blood flow in individuals with peripheral vascular disease, a condition where blood vessels in the extremities become narrowed or blocked.  It may be prescribed to delay or reduce the frequency and intensity of contractions in pregnant women at risk of preterm labor, helping to maintain pregnancy. It can be used to alleviate symptoms of Raynaud's disease, a condition characterized by reduced blood flow to the fingers and toes, leading to cold and numb extremities.
